    Dubai's Emirates suspends flights to several US destinations on 5G concerns

    Dubai's Emirates airline announced on Tuesday that it will suspend flights to several destinations in the US as of Jan. 19 until further notice because of concerns over 5G mobile deployment. The move is “due to operational concerns associated with the planned deployment of 5G mobile network services in the US”, the company said. It said the destinations include Boston, Chicago, Dallas Fort Worth, Houston, Miami, Newark, Orlando, San Francisco, and Seattle.

    Iraq’s Iran-backed Asaib Ahl al-Haq militia congratulated Yemen’s Houthi militia for its drone attack on the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi which killed three people, the Shia militia’s leader Qais al-Khazali said. The UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi was rocked on Monday when drone attacks led to a fire breaking out and resulted in the explosion of three petroleum tankers, killing three people and wounding six others.

    Bengaluru, India – When 18-year-old A H Almas and two friends walked into class on a December morning, the teacher immediately shouted at them: “Get out. The Muslim girls were not allowed to sit in the classroom because they were wearing the hijab, or headscarf. When we arrived at the door of the classroom, the teacher said we cannot enter with the hijab,” Almas told Al Jazeera.
