First pregnant Egyptian mummy surprises researchers
Archaeologists from the Warsaw Mummy Project examine the mummy, previously thought to be a priest. Wojtek Ejsmond, one of the three co-founders of the Warsaw Mummy Project, told CNN the mummy was first brought to Poland in 1826 by Jan Wężyk-Rudzki. At that time it was believed to be a woman, but the view changed during the 1920s when an inscription on the sarcophagus was translated to reveal the name of an Egyptian priest, Hor-Djehuty.

Two self-described influencers are to be deported from the Indonesian resort island of Bali after being jailed for creating a "prank" video of a painted-on face mask, an official said on Friday. Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator said Tehran expects US sanctions on oil, banks and other sectors and on most individuals and institutions to be lifted based on agreements reached so far at talks in Vienna, Iranian state media reported. Russia and Western European powers meanwhile gave contrasting accounts of the task ahead in the talks to bring Iran and the United States fully back into compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal, as the talks adjourned for six days.

Israel's Netanyahu booed by bereaved protesters at stampede site
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised a full investigation into the deadly stampede at a Jewish religious festival in the town of Mount Meron, where he was booed by protesting relatives of the victims. According to the Israeli media, protesters on Friday hurled empty bottles and shouted insults at Netanyahu, who travelled to the pilgrimage site in the north of the country, where at least 45 people died and 150 others were injured in the stampede during Lag BaOmer celebrations.

US fines German software company SAP $8M over Iran sanctions
US prosecutors said Thursday that German software giant SAP will pay more than $8 million in penalties in acknowledging that it illegally exported its products to Iran. The US said the company could have faced stiffer penalties and prosecution had it not voluntarily disclosed the activities that violated American sanctions against Iran. The company agreed to the penalties and changes to its business practices as part of an agreement with the US departments of Justice, Commerce and Treasury.
